Week 10 /11/12
4 NOVEMBER 2022 -BOSTON
Last night was a serious matter and did end up in a active resuscitation after a cardiac arrest in a cabin on deck 8 but thank goodness all went well could get the patient going again and then it was a race against time to get her off the ship before we could leave.Think hubby can do a resuscitation in his sleep after all the practise through the years.I saw the pilot boat come in next to our ship and little did I know they had come in to pick up the patient and get her to hospital as soon as possible.
So by the time hubby got to our cabin the adrenalin was still pumping and we chatted until late in the night before he could switch off and go to sleep.
Did not do much today went for a walk and then ended up back at FLOUR for another sarmie and a americano coffee.
Back on board we caught up on some sleep and had a clear skies sail away from Boston but have been warned about rough seas ahead so seems to be this time of the year by the look of things.
Booked my ticket for a Boston tour ending at the airport for Friday when I fly back home so 12 weeks have come and gone.
6 OCTOBER 2022 – BERMUDA
Yesterday was another day at sea but the weather was not that bad at least the passengers could use the outside decks and catch some sun.The forecast for Bermuda was not great with very windy conditions and overcast forecasted. We arrived late morning and with our sail in tugboat Powerfull was there to meet us and lost it mast or should I say it snapped so that I have never seen before.
After breakfast we got off to go for a walk but not pleasant at all a terrible wind is blowing and looking hazy so just a quick stop at the shop and then we tried to get connected but same story as every week battling to pick up the free wifi and getting connected so decided to rather return to the cabin for a sleep. We packed our swimming towels to go to our special spot near Glass Beach but decided against that when it looked like some rain was on its way.Last week was also very windy and unpleasant.Hubby on duty tomorrow so I will see what the weather does before I decide what to do tomorrow and we might go out for dinner with the team, so that will be nice. I then could get to have my 3 rd glass of wine in 12 weeks and good food.
8 OCTOBER 2022 – BERMUDA
Yesterday was a ship day I did not even get off the ship because while I was having breakfast it started pouring with rain and I mean really heavy rain came down in buckets so that and more wind kept me inside.Knew I still had another day so decided would give it a skip for the day.
We went out for dinner with the medical team to Moderno a Brazilian restaurant and boy there you eat all the different meats you can think of and it really was very tasty and delicious.
You start with an impressive 43 item salad bar to choose from and then the 12 slow roasted meats carved at your table side starts ,it is carved by there Passadores waiters.
The meats are a selection of
File mignon
File com Bacon
Fraldinha
Picanha
Costela de Boi
Linguica
Lombinho de Porco
Salsicha
Costela de Cordeiro
Penil de Cordeiro
Beito de Frango Bacon
Then you have the following sides white rice black beans sautéed mushrooms and garlic mashed potatoes.
They also have roasted pineapple that is a signature dish in this restaurant and got my glass of wine so really enjoyed the evening.Realised I really have little contact with people so was great to chat to them all and started talking about there time on the ships during covid and my goodness they can actually write books about all the things that happened to them.
Just so thankful it is all over and behind us really hope by the time the next one hits we are done with cruising and back home permanently.
Hubby has a gift to work with patients and staff he gets on well with everyone and has a way to motivate them and get the best out of them.He is truly loved by all on his different contracts and does walk the extra mile for the staff.
The other doctor told me last night she so wished she could work with him on her next contract but he goes where he is placed it is her second contract but think he has helped her a lot and as he always says you also learn from each and every other member of the team.
We got off the ship after the drill today and went for our Bermuda ice cream ended up going back for a second one so that says it all!!
Yesterday one of the sister ships arrived in port a day earlier for they had a sick passenger on board that needed to get to hospital so they had to speed up to get here as soon as they could ,always something on the go on board a ship.
Leaving Dockyard this afternoon you could see the different reefs around the island and there are so many no wonder so many ships have run into trouble in these waters around Bermuda.Tomorrow we are at sea and then our last port of call is Bar Harbour before I get off in Boston on Friday to fly home.Has been a long 12 weeks with lots that has happened but am thankful and grateful I can travel with hubby it is a huge blessing and grace ,in November 2022 it will be 10 years later and cruising has been good to us.We planning to carry on until it is time for the next season in our lives and believe the Lord will show us when the time is right and it is time to move on.Saw these words in Portland Maine and think is beautiful for us that are at sea “MAY YOU HAVE FAIR WINDS AND FOLLOWING SEAS”
So until next time bye and God Bless.
